The objectives of the Coalition are:
- To promote the leaders of women, at all level, to inspire and lead a national movement of committed people. The leadership works at the national, regional, woreda and kebele levels to fight HIV/AIDS, promote gender equality, increase access to reproductive health services and support orphans.
- To ensure that women in Ethiopia take their rightful place alongside all groups, as pioneers of action in economic and political empowerment and societal transformation within their own families, the community and the nation.

The missions of the Coalition are the following:
- Provide a complementary political leadership and commitment to champion HIV/AIDS issues from national to kebele levels;
- Apply trans formative methodologies in its work, to address the root cause of the epidemic such as societal norms, values, attitudes and work with the community to identify culturally viable solutions;Fight HIV/AIDS by addressing the gender and gender related issues which fuel the epidemic and work towards the economic and political empowerment of women.
- Address poverty as both the underlying cause and consequence of HIV/AIDS.
- Use women and men as inclusive partners that would advocate for gender equality, traditional and cultural related causes to address HIV/AIDS.

The vision of the National Coalition for Women against HIV/AIDS (the Coalition) is to be at the forefront of a national effort to address the challenge of creating an AIDS free Ethiopia. |
